Construction

The construction industry is a specialized industry where the top three accident types are generally recognized as falls, being hit or crushed by an object and overexertion. On-the-job dangers include cranes and moving equipment, concrete and masonry crushing, eye and face safety, hand safety, hearing protection, ladder safety, traffic control, electrical safety and demolitions. It is vitally important that qualified personnel supervise and train their workers in safe work practices and hazard identification against the danger of the various hazards that exist on a construction site. Additionally, contractors must coordinate safety with subcontractors to ensure compliance with the various Acts and Regulations. This must be done together with regular equipment inspections, emergency preparedness and necessary corrective actions.
